New Business:
 As mentioned at the January meeting, the members recommended that a three (3) year
term limit be place on all board members and executive positions with a two year gap
before being able to hold that position again. This past unanimously.
 There are currently five (5) board members. It was recommended that since the Buy
Local has grown so much, that the board should consist of up to seven (7) members and
they should be of diverse back rounds. (i.e. not all bankers, retailers, etc). This past
unanimously.
 In an effort to have board members attend as many meetings as possible, the members
recommended that board members only be allowed to miss three (3) meetings per year.
This past unanimously.
 Rebecca and Mike Lake decided to step down from the board. Their positions were filled
by Dani Nisbet, Belissimo Salon and Dana Tait, Norway Savings Bank. Both voted
unanimously. Dominic and Laurie Moulton will stay on for one more year. This leaves
two (2) additional seats.
 Since Dani had decided to step down from her position as president, Suzanne Madore,
Girl in the Orange Coat was unanimously voted into the position of President for South
Portland Buy Local. Jon will stay on for Vice President for one more year. Jamie
Doucette decided to step down as Secretary and April Cohen-Tracy, The Maine Real
Estate Network, was unanimously voted into the position. Dominic Moulton will also
remain Treasurer.
 Directory planning will start in March. Please stay posted for details about getting your
information into the book.
 An automated billing system should be in place shortly on the SoPo Buy Local website
(www.sopobuylocal.com). We are still able to accept checks. You will receive notices
when bills are due and a reminder for 30,60,90 days past due.
Old Business:
 Winter Fest wrap-up: The show did go on for the most part during the day; however, the
SoPo Buy Local skating party was canceled for the night. Dani made several trips down
to the park that day and each time the ice got a little softer. DJ Tom Rowe has told us he
will donate a couple hours of his time in the future if we would like to have another
skating party – this year or next. Members suggested we send out a press release thanking
the South Portland/Cape Elizabeth Rotary for all their efforts in planning this event.
 Signature Event: Dani will be following up with her contacts at SMCC in hopes to move
forward with having the event there. Date TBD.
 Next meeting is March 13, 2012 at the Planning & Development Building 496 Ocean
Street (old Hamlin School) 6:30pm
